lezing SVW fellow Joost Vos 17 november
Op donderdag 17 november presenteert SVW fellow Joost Vos zijn onderzoek bij het ISS in Den Haag. Publiek is van harte welkom. The International Institute of Social Studies and the Foundation for Peace Sciences have teamed up to provide a research grant to prepare a PhD project. On Thursday November 17, Joost Vos will present his final proposal. We would like to cordially invite you to this event. Increasingly OECD countries perceive unstable states as a threat to international peace and stability. A wide range of capacity-building programmes has been set up as a result to improve governance in fragile settings. However, such policies are increasingly under fire as they show a tendency of underwriting repression and insufficiently taking into account existing polarizations. With a specific focus on the Great Lakes Region of Africa, this seminar will present the outline of the PhD project I have been working on for the last months.
