The Dutch Foundation for Peace Studies congratulates Chris Vloedbeld (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen) on winning the Visions on Peace master thesis prize 2018 with his thesis “The End of Counterterrorism: The Conceivable Cost of a Societal Reflex”.
The Visions on Peace master thesis prize was awarded on Tuesday 11 December by Prof. dr. Ruud Welten (right, Chair of the Dutch Foundation for Peace Studies, Erasmus University) and dr. Lidewyde Berckmoes (left, Chairwoman of the Visions on Peace jury, African Studies Centre Leiden, University of Amsterdam) to Chris Vloedbeld (middle).
The other nominees were Laurie Treffers (Utrecht University) with her thesis “(Un)veiled Bodies of Resistance” and Tess Knook (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) with her thesis “Sparks of Fire in a Frozen Conflict”.
Prior to the award ceremony, a lecture was given by Cees van Dam, Professor of International Business and Human Rights at the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
